FRANCESCA VASSALLO
Francesca trained under
the direction of Deborah McNamara School of Ballet, and later
at Central Academy of Ballet, in Classical Ballet,
Contemporary and Spanish Dance. She was awarded many prizes
and scholarships during her training and attended various
international courses. She has performed a variety of roles in
local dance productions. She joined Contact Dance Company in
May 2005 and continues to aspire her love for dance by
training further into dance related studies and peforming on
an international level with Contact Dance Company.

FLORINDA CAMILLERI
Florinda put on her dancing shoes
at the age of 3 attending the Tanya Bayona Princess Poutiatine
Academy. She has trained in several techniqiues, ranging from
Classical, Spanish dance, Jazz and Contemporary. At age 14 she
was awarded a scholarship at the Tring Summer School in UK,
followed by at age 16 a scholarship to the London Studio
Centre in UK. She trains in Spanish and Classical Dance under
the direction of Deborah McNamara and was invited to join
Contact Dance Company in 2006.

YASMINE NUVOLI
(Italy);
Born in
Italy, Yasmine began dancing at an early age and trained at
the Tanya Bayona Poutiatine Academy of Ballet in Classical and
Modern dance. Later training at the College of Jazz and
touring with the resident dance company YADA. She
furthered her training at the Dance Workshop and explored her
talents into Contemporary Dance. She has attended and
worked in numerous international workshops and performed in
various venues,TV, opera, and theatre stage musicals such as
"Kiss me Kate", "Puss in Boots", "King and 1",
"Cabaret", "Chicago"and several others. Yasmine joined
Contact Dance Company in June 2004.

JEANELLE
CASSAR
Jeanelle
Cassar started classical ballet (Royal Academy of Dance) at
the age of 4 under the direction of Mary Jane Bellia and Ray
Mamo and Modern Dance at the College of Jazz, Malta. In 2002,
she attended the Royal Academy of Dance Performance courses in
London performing under various established choreographers.
She joined CDC in 2004 and is currently reading a degree in
Bachelor of Engineering Honours whilst she continues to aspire
her love for dance.

OLIVIA VELLA
Olivia began her training at the Dance
Workshop in Malta, where she studied with Francesca
Abela-Tranter. She joined Contact Dance Company as an
apprentice in 2003 and became a company dancer in 2004.
She graduated from The Scottish School of Contemporary Dance
with a diploma in Contemporary Dance Performance in 2008.
After graduating she undertook an apprenticeship with
Smallpetitklein Dance Company. Since January 2009 Olivia has
been working as a freelance choreographer and teacher in
London, she also started up a company called
Rancidance, and pursued further professional development, in
particular her interest for contemporary improvisation
methods. Olivia is visiting Malta and has gladly stepped in
to perform after Yasmine Nuvoli was injured.

CHRISTINA CAMILLERI
ARAD, LRAD
Christina trained under the direction of Mary Jane Bellia in
Classical Ballet and graduated with a BA(Hons) in ballet
education at the Royal Academy of Dance in UK covering a
wide range of dance related subjects . In 2005 her teaching
experience led her to posts as dance assistant at the Royal
Academy of Dance (UK) and ‘La Sylphide‘ ballet school in
Rome in 2007. She has performed both locally and overseas
and has a variety of teaching experience, She was invited
to join Contact Dance Company in October 2009. Christina
freelances teaching classical ballet in both RAD and
Chechetti methods and jazz at the Dance Academy and The
Dance Conservatoire. She prepares students for dance exams
and is specialising in performance of classical ballet and
contemporary dance. As a dancer she forms part of the Dance
Council Ensemble and Redtape Dance Company. Christina
continues to explore her abilities as a dancer and
choreographer.
